I want to visit one of the countries of Shenghen territory, which Embassy do I
apply at for a visa?
You must apply at the Embassy of a country you are intending to go. If you are
planning to visit several countries, you need to apply at the Embassy of the
country of the longest intended period of stay or the country where you will
cross the border first.
Can I just come to the Embassy of Spain and apply right away?
No, you will need to schedule an appointment first in order to submit your visa
application by calling to the Embassy of Spain Contact Centre: or by going to
the web site www.espvac-ua.com.

Where is the new Visa Application Centre?
The new visa application centre is located at 60 Frunze Street, Kiev, Ukraine.
Nearest Metro Station is Tarasa Shevchenka.
How long does it take to process my visa?
Under normal circumstances for an individual it takes up to 5 working
days. For a Travel Agent the process time will be 5 working days.
Where Do I pay the Visa Fees?
After submission in VAC an applicant pays a service charge. After that
all individuals, representatives as well as travel agents must pay Visa Fees at
the Embassy before 14:00. Please note that Visa Fee is in dollars.
Do I have to apply personally?
A representative may apply in case of a short term visa.
Can my passport be collected by someone else?
There
are three ways of collecting your passport:
a) Applicant can choose to receive the passport through
Courier service:
Courier service can be ordered and paid at the VAC at the time of submission of
the application
b) Applicant can collect it from the Visa Application Center PERSONALLY:
You can collect your passport from the Visa Application Centre between 0830 and
1530 hours (Monday to Friday, except on Holidays). At the time of collecting
passport, applicant must present the
original payment receipt and passport photocopy that was provided by the VAC
at the time of submission and his/her ID document.
Please
note:
if the application was submitted by the applicant personally but the applicant
would like to authorize another person to collect his/her passport then the
authorized person must be present at the time of submission for issuing the
Letter of authority. In case the representative is not present at the time of
submission the applicant still have two choices to collect the passport:

Applicant should collect passport personally; or
-
Applicant can avail our Courier Option
c)
Through a representative (third person): Collection is possible by such
representative, provided he/she is the same person who submitted the
application. Such representative can collect passport(s) by presenting the
original payment receipt and passport photocopy that was provided by the VAC;
Letter of authority that was attested by VAC at the time of Submission; and ID
of representative shown in original with the photocopy of the first page.
This
process applies to family members too,
where if one of the family members wants to collect the passports/documents on
behalf of rest of the family, then such member will be treated as a
representative and hence the above process applies.
Please
note:
At every stage of coming to the Visa Application Centre a representaive must
have the Letter of authority which was attested at the time of submission.
For
accredited agencies rules of submission and collection differ.
IMPORTANT:
In case of inability to provide with any one of the documents listed above at
the time of collection of passports/documents, applicant will have to visit the
Visa Application Centre personally, as representation will not hold good
anymore.
Can I live in Spain having a short term visa?
No. Short term visa enables you to stay in Spain for the period of its validity
only. According to the law in the area of rights and matters of foreigners in
Spain, in order to settle in Spain, you must have a necessary settlement visa.
Do I have to have a medical insurance?
Yes.
In case I am refused, does it mean that I will never be able to travel to any
Shenghen country any more?
It means that at this moment under these particular circumstances a visa can
not be issued to you.
What do I do if I am refused?
If you consider it to be reasonable, you can appeal against the refusal. In
case of a refusal the Embassy will provide you with a refusal letter mentioning
the term and the place where you can appeal at.
If I am refused, should I wait for some time before applying for a visa again?
No. The Embassy recommends you to apply again only if you think that the
circumstances that could have caused the refusal have changed.
