I want to visit one of the countries og Shenghen territory, which Embassy do I
apply at for a visa?
You must apply at the Embassy of a country you are intending to go. If you are
planning to visit several countries, you need to apply at the Embassy of the
country of the longest intended period of stay or the country where you will
cross the border first.
Can I just come to the Embassy of Spain and apply right away?
No, you will need to schedule an appointment first in order to submit your visa
application by calling to the Embassy of Spain Contact Centre: or by going to
the web site www.espvac-ua.com.

When will the new Visa Application start?
The new Visa Application Centre will start on 12th of November 2007
How long does it take to process my visa?
Under normal circumstances for an individual it takes upto 7 working
days. For a Travel Agent the process time will be 3 working days. You may opt
to use SMS service to know the status of your visa application. The SMS service
can be used in the following manner:
For checking visa status, please, send SMS to short number 7788 in the
following format VISAXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, where XXXXXXXXXXXXXX is your 11 digit
reference number assigned to you by the Embassy.
For Example; if your reference number is 12345678910, you will need to SMS
VISA12345678910 to 7788 in order to receive the status of your application.
The status can be checked after 7-10 days from the date of submitting your visa
application to the Embassy.
The service is available for all national GSM operators on the territory of
Ukraine. The Cost of the service 5 hrn incl. VAT.

Where Do I pay the Visa Fees?
After submission in VAC an applicant pays 170 UAH as a service charge.
After that all individuals, representatives as well as travel agents must pay
Visa Fees at the Embassy before 15:30. Please note that Visa Fee is in dollars.
Do I have to apply personally?
Work permit and settlement applications must be submitted in person. But a
representative may apply in case of a short term visa.
Can my passport be collected by someone else?
The passport can be collected by a representative having an authorization
letter with a copy of the photo id. You also have the option of opting for your
passport to be delivered through courier by paying a nominal charge of 50.00
UAH per passport. You can request for this service at the time of submitting
your visa application and the passport will be delivered to you via TNT once
the VAC receives the passport back from the Embassy after the application is
processed.
Can I live in Spain having a short term visa?
No. Short term visa enables you to stay in Spain for the period of its validity
i\only. According to the law in the area of rights and matters of foreigners in
Spain, in order to settle in Spain, you must have a necessary settlement visa.
Do I need to provide any other supporting documents if I have a private of
business invitation?
Yes. The invitation just explains the purpose of your travel and lodging
provided in Spain. An applicant has to show the proof of necessary financial
means available.
Do I have to have a medical insurance?
Yes.
In case I am refused, does it mean that I will never be able to travel to any
Shenghen country any more?
It means that at this moment under this particular circumstances a visa can not
be issued to you.
What do I do if I am refused?
If you consider it to be reasonable, you can appeal against the refusal. In
case of a refusal the Embassy will provide you with a refusal letter mentioning
the term and the place where you can appeal at.
If I am refused, should I wait for some time before applying for a visa again?
No. The Embassy recommends you to apply again only if you think that the
circumstances that could have caused the refusal have changed.
